Jon Rahm Exits LIV Golf Amidst Financial and Career Challenges
Jon Rahm has decided to leave the LIV Golf League, opting out of its upcoming 2027 relaunch due to terms he found unacceptable. The two-time major champion's departure from the rival tour comes with significant repercussions for his career.
Rahm is reportedly owed $150 million from his LIV Golf contract, and he will not be eligible to compete on the PGA Tour until 2028. His attorney, John Beck, confirmed that they are working on a separation agreement that is expected to be finalized by October 15.
While PGA Tour commissioner Brian Rolapp offered a Returning Member Program to LIV players, Rahm declined this opportunity. He will likely follow a path similar to Patrick Reed, who served a suspension after leaving LIV Golf, participating in DP World Tour events and major championships before returning to the PGA Tour full-time.
