Jonas Vingegaard to Miss Remainder of Season Due to Injury

Jonas Vingegaard, a two-time Tour de France champion, has been ruled out for the remainder of the season as he recovers from a broken collarbone sustained during this year's Tour de France.

The injury occurred on stage 15 when Vingegaard lost control on a tight bend, resulting in a fall that required surgery. This injury prevents him from competing for a third Tour title, which was ultimately won by Tadej Pogacar.

Vingegaard will miss the upcoming UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, where Pogacar aims for a third consecutive world title. Vingegaard noted that his recovery was planned after the Tour, but the injury has delayed his training. His team, Visma-Lease a Bike, has decided it is best for him to focus on the 2027 season, considering his racing workload and the injury.
