Jonathon Brooks Returns to Action for Panthers After Injury Recovery
In a preseason game on Saturday, Jonathon Brooks, running back for the Panthers, returned to the field, marking a significant milestone in his recovery from two serious knee injuries.
Brooks participated in live action with the first-string offense, recording four touches. This appearance comes after he suffered an ACL tear in his right knee during his final college game and a subsequent tear in just his third professional game.
After being selected by the Panthers in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft while still recovering, Brooks had limited playing time in his rookie season. He faced another setback with an ACL tear in Week 14 of 2024, which sidelined him for the remainder of that season and all of 2025. Panthers coach Dave Canales expressed excitement about Brooks' return, noting the emotional journey he has undergone to reach this point.
