Jonny Clayton from Wales achieved his first New Zealand Darts Masters title by defeating compatriot Gerwyn Price with a score of 8-4 in Auckland.

Clayton advanced to the final after overcoming Gian van Veen and James Wade, showcasing his skill with impressive checkouts of 72, 158, 80, and 62. He established a commanding 5-1 lead against Price, who had previously defeated Clayton in the 2022 final.

Despite a brief comeback from Price, who won three consecutive legs, Clayton sealed his victory with a 124 checkout. Both players, who previously won the World Cup together, expressed their enjoyment of competing against each other.
