Jonny Lomax Announces Retirement from Rugby League

St Helens player Jonny Lomax has revealed he will retire at the end of the Super League season after a career marked by significant achievements and injuries.

Jonny Lomax, a prominent player for St Helens, has declared his intention to retire at the conclusion of the Super League season. The 35-year-old has been sidelined since suffering a jaw fracture during a match against Warrington Wolves in June.

Throughout his career, Lomax has made 388 appearances for St Helens, contributing to five Grand Final victories, one Challenge Cup win, and a World Club Challenge title. He has also represented Great Britain four times and England eleven times, including a World Cup final against Australia in 2017.

Reflecting on his career, Lomax expressed gratitude for the opportunities he has had, despite facing numerous injuries, including 19 operations. St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus praised Lomax's bravery in the sport. Currently, St Helens sits seventh in the Super League standings with three matches remaining in the season.
