Jordan Clarkson Discusses Free Agency and Role with Knicks
Jordan Clarkson, who played for the Knicks last season, averaged a career-low of 17.8 minutes per game and sometimes found himself out of the rotation under coach Mike Brown. Despite this, he chose not to consider offers from other teams during free agency, expressing a strong desire to return to New York.
Clarkson described his free agency experience as relaxed, stating that he communicated his intentions to his agent and the team, focusing solely on returning if the financial terms were agreeable. The Knicks valued his positive attitude and presence in the locker room, especially given his inconsistent playing time.
Now back with the Knicks on a minimum-salary contract, Clarkson is expected to play behind Landry Shamet, Jose Alvarado, and Miles McBride in the backcourt. He acknowledged that his current role differs from what he has previously experienced but expressed contentment with his contributions to the team.
