Jordan Leasure of the White Sox Undergoes UCL Surgery

Jordan Leasure, a reliever for the Chicago White Sox, recently had surgery to repair a torn UCL, as announced by the team. He is projected to miss the entire 2027 season and aims to return for Spring Training in 2028.

The 28-year-old right-handed pitcher had been experiencing elbow discomfort and was initially diagnosed with a flexor strain before the ligament damage was discovered, necessitating the surgery. Leasure made only 18 appearances this season, following a more productive 2025 where he recorded a 3.92 ERA and led the team in strikeouts among relievers.

Leasure's injury does not prompt immediate changes for the White Sox, as it was already clear he would not return this season. He will finish the year on the 60-day injured list and will need to be either reinstated to the 40-man roster or placed on waivers at the start of the offseason.
