Jordan Love Receives Praise Despite Packers' Struggles
The Green Bay Packers have started their season with a 2-2 record, placing them at the bottom of the NFC North. This situation is not what quarterback Jordan Love or head coach Matt LaFleur had anticipated.
Despite the team's struggles, Love has been highlighted positively, ranking 11th in CBS Sports' NFL quarterback power rankings. Analysts note that Love is shouldering the team's offensive burden, especially as the Packers rank last in rushing yards per game, averaging only 58.0 yards. In their recent game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Love completed 22 of 30 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Throughout the season, Love has thrown for 1,041 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions, placing him eighth in the league for passing yards. The Packers' running game has been ineffective, with their leading rusher, MarShawn Lloyd, accumulating only 81 yards on 30 carries. As the NFL trade deadline approaches, the Packers may need to consider acquiring a running back to support Love and improve their offensive strategy.
