Jorge Martin Cleared to Compete in Malaysian GP Opening Practice
Jorge Martin has been approved to participate in the opening practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. The Aprilia rider received clearance from MotoGP's official doctor, Angel Charte, after successfully completing initial fitness tests on Thursday.
Martin had sustained a broken arm in a crash during the sprint race at Phillip Island, which rendered him unfit for the Australian Grand Prix. Although the full race was later canceled due to poor visibility, Martin's absence resulted in a 10-point deficit behind championship leader Marc Marquez. His participation in the Malaysian GP is considered vital for his title aspirations.
Following the opening practice, Martin will undergo further evaluation to determine if he can continue racing throughout the weekend. Additionally, fellow Aprilia rider Raul Fernandez is also dealing with an injury, as he arrives with a broken finger.
