Jorge Martin Secures Victory at Silverstone Sprint
Jorge Martin achieved a commanding victory in the British GP sprint at Silverstone, leading every lap from pole position. This win allowed him to extend his championship lead to 17 points, marking a significant turnaround after a series of disappointing performances.
Martin attributed his success to reverting to an older-spec base package, which he previously used during a strong performance at Le Mans. This change, combined with a new aerodynamic package, helped him regain confidence and speed on the track.
During the race, Martin managed tyre degradation effectively, opting for a soft rear tyre like his competitors. Although he faced pressure from Ai Ogura midway through, he maintained his lead and finished with a margin of 1.5 seconds. Martin noted that the balance of his bike contributed to his ability to manage the race successfully.
