Jorge Messi, the father of soccer player Lionel Messi, passed away on Saturday at the age of 68 in Rosario, Argentina. He had been facing health challenges during the summer, particularly around the time of the 2026 World Cup.

Jorge Messi, who served as Lionel's agent throughout his career, was unable to travel to the United States for the World Cup. Following the tournament, Lionel returned to Rosario to be with his father before resuming his commitments with Inter Miami.
