Jos Buttler Credits Marcus Trescothick for Return to Form in T20
Jos Buttler has recently attributed his resurgence in T20 cricket to a conversation with England batting coach Marcus Trescothick. The wicketkeeper-batsman surpassed Kieron Pollard's all-time T20 run-scoring record, achieving 14,833 runs in 492 innings, and scored a rapid 51 runs off 20 balls for Manchester Super Giants.
Buttler's impressive performance includes three 50+ scores in his last four innings, along with a notable 131 runs in a T20 match against India last month. Despite struggling during the World Cup earlier this year, where he averaged 10.87, he has found renewed confidence through technical adjustments suggested by Trescothick.
He emphasized the importance of technique in freeing up his mental game, noting that he needed to refine his trigger movement to improve his batting. Currently, Buttler ranks as the second-highest run scorer in this season's Hundred, with 277 runs, and has hit 20 sixes, trailing only Mitch Marsh.
