Joselyne Edwards Named Backup Fighter for UFC 334 Title Bout
Joselyne Edwards has been appointed as the backup fighter for the bantamweight championship match between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes at UFC 334, taking place on November 14 at Madison Square Garden.
Edwards, currently on a five-fight winning streak and ranked No. 1 in the meta rankings, has the opportunity to compete for the title if either fighter is unable to participate. However, she must first meet the bantamweight limit of 135 pounds, as any weight miss could disqualify her from the backup role.
While Edwards could potentially step in for Nunes and fight for the title, complications may arise if Harrison cannot compete, possibly leading to a non-title bout or an interim title fight. The UFC has previously made similar adjustments in response to fighter withdrawals, ensuring the event remains intact.
