Josh Baez Makes Major League Debut for Cardinals Against Cubs

The St. Louis Cardinals have promoted Joshua Baez, a 23-year-old outfielder, to make his major league debut on Saturday against the Chicago Cubs in Chicago.

Baez has had a standout season in Triple-A, leading all batters with 34 home runs and 90 RBIs over 103 games with Memphis. He has a batting average of .256, along with 22 doubles, 21 stolen bases, and 79 runs scored, while playing at least 20 games in each outfield position.

Ranked as the Cardinals' No. 3 prospect, Baez has shown significant potential since being drafted in the second round in 2021, accumulating a .251 batting average, 78 home runs, 275 RBIs, and 149 stolen bases in 452 minor league games.
