Josh Hazlewood Achieves Milestone Against Bangladesh in Test Return

Josh Hazlewood made a notable comeback to Test cricket after a year-long absence, taking six wickets during Australia's first innings against Bangladesh in Darwin. He bowled 28 overs, allowing 89 runs, and secured two wickets on the second day before adding four more on the following day.

This performance elevated Hazlewood's Test wicket total to 301, making him the ninth Australian bowler to surpass the 300-wicket milestone. He also set a record as the first Australian fast bowler to record a five-wicket haul against Bangladesh in international cricket, surpassing Ian Harvey's previous best of 4/16 in an ODI.

While Hazlewood's achievement stands out, the overall best bowling figures by an Australian against Bangladesh remain with spinner Stuart MacGill, who took 8/108 in a Test match in 2006. In the same Test, Mitchell Starc contributed by taking two wickets, bringing his career total to 435 Test wickets.
