Josh Hokit has stated that Alex Pereira must rebuild his momentum after losing to Ciryl Gane in his heavyweight debut. Hokit remarked on social media that Pereira's performance marked Gane's easiest victory in five years.

Following Pereira's unanimous decision loss at UFC 327, Hokit expressed that if a fight between them is scheduled, it should be for the BMF title rather than a standard contender bout.
