Josh Jacobs Charged with Battery and Criminal Damage

Josh Jacobs, a running back for the Green Bay Packers, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery and criminal damage to property following an incident on May 23. The Brown County District Attorney’s Office filed the complaint on Thursday.

Jacobs was initially arrested on May 26 on multiple charges related to domestic abuse, including felony strangulation. He was released the next day due to insufficient evidence for criminal charges. The recent incident report details a disturbance at Jacobs' residence, where his girlfriend reported being injured during a physical struggle over a phone.

According to the report, video evidence corroborates the girlfriend's account of the altercation. The district attorney emphasized that the complaint does not imply guilt, while Jacobs' attorneys noted that the charges do not include domestic violence. The NFL is monitoring the situation, and the Packers have stated they will cooperate with the league's review.
