Josh Jacobs Clarifies Touchdown Celebration After Packers' Win
In a recent game, the Green Bay Packers secured a 27-19 victory against the Carolina Panthers, with running back Josh Jacobs scoring two touchdowns. During the second quarter, Jacobs celebrated one of his touchdowns by placing his hands behind his back.
After the game, Jacobs clarified that this celebration was not related to his May arrest, which had previously caused him to miss several games. He emphasized that the gesture was inspired by a gospel song titled Break Every Chain, which he had planned with teammate Savion Williams.
Jacobs, who had faced legal issues resulting in a no contest plea for battery and criminal destruction of property, spent the first six weeks of the season on the commissioner's exempt list. He expressed surprise at how his celebration could be misinterpreted, noting the challenges of public perception in today's environment.
