Josh Tarling Secures Third Place in Vuelta a Espana After Family Tragedy
Josh Tarling from Britain achieved a third-place finish in the opening stage of the Vuelta a Espana, only eight days after the death of his brother Finlay in a crash.
The 22-year-old rider for Netcompany Ineos made the decision to compete in the three-week Grand Tour and delivered a commendable performance on a challenging course in Monaco.
Fin, aged 19, tragically passed away following a high-speed collision with a van during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal the previous Friday. The stage was won by Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG, who narrowly defeated Ethan Hayter of Soudal-Quick Step by just nine hundredths of a second, with Tarling finishing four seconds behind Pogacar.
