Joshua Baez Makes History with Three Home Runs in MLB Debut

Joshua Baez made a historic debut in Major League Baseball on Saturday, becoming the first player to hit three home runs in his first game. His performance contributed to the St. Louis Cardinals' 8-4 win against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Baez, who is 23 years old, hit his first home run in the opening inning, sending a pitch from Matthew Boyd 449 feet to center field. He followed this with another homer in the fourth inning, giving the Cardinals a 4-3 lead, and capped off his remarkable debut with a two-run shot in the sixth inning, extending the lead to 6-3.

After the game, Cubs manager Craig Counsell acknowledged Baez's impressive feat, noting that he hit three different pitches for home runs. Baez, ranked as St. Louis' No. 3 prospect, was called up from Triple-A Memphis, where he had an impressive season with 34 home runs in 103 games.
