Josiah Deguara Released from Seahawks Practice Squad
Josiah Deguara, a former tight end for the Green Bay Packers, was released from the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad this week, marking the end of a short-lived opportunity.
Deguara, who was drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, spent four seasons with the team before becoming an unrestricted free agent after the 2023 season. His time in Green Bay was marred by injuries and inconsistent performance, with his best season in 2021 yielding 25 receptions for 245 yards and two touchdowns.
After his departure from the Packers, Deguara had brief tenures with several teams, including the Jaguars, Cardinals, 49ers, Giants, and Eagles, but struggled to secure a consistent offensive role. He was signed by the Seahawks on October 19 due to a tight-end injury but was released just eight days later. At 29, his future in the NFL remains uncertain as he seeks another opportunity.
