Juan Pablo Montoya Advocates for Liam Lawson's Continuation at Red Bull for Spanish GP

Juan Pablo Montoya has recommended that Red Bull retain Liam Lawson for the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid next week, cautioning against hastily returning Isack Hadjar from injury.

Lawson stepped in for Hadjar at the Dutch Grand Prix after Hadjar suffered a wrist injury during the summer break. Despite limited preparation, Lawson performed admirably, qualifying closely behind teammate Max Verstappen and finishing seventh, earning six points.

As Lawson continues to race at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Montoya expressed on F1 TV's Weekend Warm-Up that it would be prudent for Red Bull to allow Hadjar more recovery time and properly prepare Lawson for the new track in Madrid. Currently, Lawson ranks ninth in the drivers' standings with 49 points, while Hadjar is eighth with 68 points.
