Judge Orders Joe Gibbs Racing and Spire to Share Race Setups
A magistrate judge has ruled that Joe Gibbs Racing and Spire Motorsports must share their final race setups from the previous season and the current season as part of a legal dispute. This decision follows a hearing where the judge addressed various unresolved matters in the case involving Joe Gibbs Racing, Spire Motorsports, and Chris Gabehart.
The judge emphasized the need for both parties to collaborate in resolving their differences, particularly regarding the use of a secure 'clean room' for reviewing sensitive information. Joe Gibbs Racing is seeking to determine if Spire has replicated its setups, while also requesting documents related to its agreement with Toyota to clarify proprietary data ownership.
Additionally, the judge has urged both sides to resolve a dispute over five documents that Joe Gibbs Racing claims are protected by attorney-client privilege. The judge noted that this matter appears solvable and encouraged both parties to reach an agreement without further court intervention.
