Juice Robinson Reflects on Leaving WWE Developmental System in 2014
Juice Robinson, known for his work in AEW and New Japan, shared insights about his departure from WWE's developmental system in 2014 during a recent podcast appearance. He indicated that he had been contemplating this move since late 2014, motivated by the successes of peers like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who thrived outside WWE.
Robinson expressed a desire to gain real wrestling experience, feeling he had spent enough time in the WWE system. He mentioned that he was overtraining and eager to explore opportunities in other wrestling markets, including England and Japan. His decision was supported by WWE Performance Center trainer Matt Bloom, who facilitated his connection with NJPW.
Bloom's assistance helped Robinson transition to NJPW, where he began to establish his career independently. Robinson had already lined up independent wrestling gigs in England as he prepared to leave WWE, emphasizing his need for freedom and growth in his wrestling journey.
