Julian Strawther of the Nuggets to Miss Six Weeks Due to Knee Injury
Julian Strawther, a wing player for the Denver Nuggets, has been diagnosed with a left knee sprain after undergoing an MRI. The team announced that he will be reevaluated in six weeks, which places the next assessment on November 27.
The injury occurred during a preseason game against the Clippers when Strawther fell while trying to escape a double-team, twisting his left leg awkwardly. He remained on the court in pain before leaving the game.
Nuggets head coach David Adelman expressed disappointment over the injury, noting Strawther's hard work during the summer. The 24-year-old, who was the 29th overall pick in the 2023 draft, has played 172 regular season games for Denver, averaging 7.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. Despite being eligible for a rookie scale extension, his inconsistent role and the team's salary cap situation made a new deal unlikely prior to the injury.
