Kadeena Cox Sets World Record to Win Gold at Para-cycling Championships
Kadeena Cox of Great Britain set a new world record while winning the C4 1km gold medal at the Para-cycling Track World Championships held in the Netherlands.
The 35-year-old athlete completed the race in 1 minute 9.545 seconds, marking her seventh world title. After her performance, Cox experienced a tense moment as Tara Neyland from Australia attempted to beat her time but ultimately fell short.
Cox, a five-time Paralympic gold medallist, celebrated her victory wrapped in a British flag, marking her first world title since 2024. In other events, James Ball and his new partner Aaron Pope won gold in the men's tandem B 1km time-trial, while Sophie Unwin and Jenny Holl secured silver in the women's pursuit final.
