Kai Asakura Achieves Knockout Victory in UFC Shanghai

Kai Asakura has revitalized his career in the UFC bantamweight division following a difficult beginning. After losing his Octagon debut against Alexandre Pantoja in 2024 and suffering another defeat to Tim Elliott, Asakura decided to move up to bantamweight.

In April, he achieved a quick knockout against Cameron Smotherman in Macau, and on August 29, he faced Aoriqileng at UFC Shanghai. Asakura showcased his striking skills, edging the first round and landing a decisive head kick at the start of the second, followed by finishing strikes.

Asakura's record now stands at 2-2 in the UFC, indicating that he has found his niche at bantamweight, a weight class where he previously held the RIZIN bantamweight title and faced notable opponents.
