Kai Asakura Aims for Knockout with New Techniques at UFC Shanghai

Kai Asakura is set to introduce new striking techniques when he faces Qileng Aori at UFC Shanghai this Saturday. The former Rizin champion, who has experienced a challenging start in the UFC with two losses at flyweight, recently secured a victory over Cameron Smotherman at bantamweight earlier this year.

During the UFC Shanghai media day, Asakura expressed his intention to finish Aori using combinations he has not previously displayed in the Octagon. He mentioned feeling more at ease competing at 135 pounds and hopes to fight again before the year concludes. Asakura is also interested in participating in a UFC event in Japan, believing it would attract significant attention.

Asakura aims to build on his recent success and extend his win streak to two, as he prepares to establish himself in the bantamweight division following a rocky start to his UFC career.
