Karl-Anthony Towns Criticizes Knicks for Halting Contract Talks
Karl-Anthony Towns has voiced his dissatisfaction with the New York Knicks' recent announcement to suspend contract extension negotiations with players. This decision affects Towns, along with teammates Josh Hart, Miles McBride, and Tyler Kolek, who are all eligible for extensions.
The Knicks revealed on October 9 that they would not engage in contract discussions until later in the season, focusing instead on preparing for the upcoming games. Towns expressed his surprise and disappointment, emphasizing the importance of business on the court.
The Knicks, led by James Dolan and Leon Rose, have offered Towns a four-year deal worth $200 million, while he is eligible for a $277 million extension. Towns, who was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves, has been a key player for the Knicks, averaging 22.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game in the regular season.
