Karn Sharma Retires from Cricket After Two Decades
Karn Sharma, the former Indian leg-spinner, has officially retired from all formats of cricket at the age of 38, marking the end of a career that lasted more than two decades. His retirement was announced following a training session with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru.
Sharma's cricket journey included one Test match, two One Day Internationals (ODIs), and one T20 International, with his last appearance for India occurring in November 2014. He played 97 First-Class matches, taking 270 wickets, and participated in over 90 IPL games, securing four titles with various franchises.
Reflecting on his career, Sharma expressed satisfaction with his achievements, despite facing challenges in returning to the national team due to strong competition in the spin department. He intends to stay connected to cricket post-retirement, looking for opportunities to contribute to the sport.
