Karnataka Secures First Win in Ranji Trophy with Innings Victory Over Tripura
Karnataka marked its first win in the Ranji Trophy by defeating Tripura by an innings and 116 runs during their Elite Group B match in Mysuru. This victory came after Karnataka had only managed two points from their previous two matches.
The home team concluded the match shortly after lunch on the final day, with seamers V. Vyshak and Manvanth Kumar taking two wickets each to initiate the collapse of Tripura's batting lineup. Vyshak dismissed Parvez Sultan and Sridam Paul, while Manvanth removed skipper Manisankar Murasingh and Sentu Sarkar.
Leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal then took charge, claiming five wickets to finish the innings. Karnataka's head coach Vinay Kumar expressed satisfaction with the win but acknowledged that the team's overall performance did not meet expectations, emphasizing the need for improvement in their batting approach.
