Kasey Kahne to Return to NASCAR with Full-Time Truck Ride in 2027
Kasey Kahne is set to make a full-time return to NASCAR in 2027, driving the No. 77 truck for Spire Motorsports. This comes nearly nine years after his last full-time season, which ended in September 2018 due to physical challenges associated with the demands of racing.
The opportunity arose when Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson approached Kahne at the Knoxville Nationals sprint-car event in August. Since leaving NASCAR, Kahne has been active in sprint-car racing, achieving five wins in six races. He expressed excitement about the chance to compete again, emphasizing his desire to enjoy the experience while remaining competitive.
Kahne plans to balance his schedule between truck races and sprint-car events, with 25 races on the truck calendar. He aims to conclude his NASCAR career on his own terms, having previously won 18 Cup races over a 15-year span. Kahne's current agreement is for one year, and he is focused on the upcoming season.
