Kawhi Leonard to Miss at Least a Week Due to Knee Swelling
Kawhi Leonard will be unavailable for at least a week as he deals with swelling in his left knee. The forward was warming up prior to the Toronto Raptors' recent loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves when he was scratched from the lineup.
Leonard participated in two of the Raptors' five pre-season games, totaling 39 minutes, as part of a gradual return to play after missing the initial week of training camp. An MRI confirmed there is no structural damage, and he is expected to be re-evaluated in a week, indicating he will miss at least four upcoming games.
In the regular season, Leonard has played limited minutes and has struggled offensively. He recently expressed his frustration about missing time and his commitment to returning to full health. The Raptors acquired him in a significant trade, and he signed a lucrative contract extension earlier this year.
