Kawhi Leonard Trade Finalized Between Clippers and Raptors
The Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors have completed a trade that returns star player Kawhi Leonard to Toronto, as reported by ESPN's Shams Charania.
This trade has been in the works since June 30, but was delayed due to an NBA investigation into the Clippers regarding salary cap issues. Leonard waived a trade kicker worth $7.45 million to facilitate the move, allowing the Raptors to remain under the salary cap.
In exchange for Leonard, the Clippers will receive Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks, one first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks. Leonard previously led the Raptors to their first NBA championship in 2019 before joining the Clippers.
