Kazuma Okamoto Out with Knee Contusion, McAdoo Joins Blue Jays Lineup

Kazuma Okamoto will not play in the Toronto Blue Jays' opening game against the Boston Red Sox due to a contusion in his left knee. The team has designated Charles McAdoo to take his place at third base.

McAdoo was recalled from the Blue Jays' triple-A affiliate in Buffalo earlier on the same day. He is expected to bat seventh in the lineup, as the team aims to leverage his recent success in the minors, where he has a .269 batting average with 16 home runs and 57 RBIs.

In addition to McAdoo's promotion, the Blue Jays have added right-handed pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson to their roster. Woods Richardson, who previously pitched 10 scoreless innings for the team this season, is available to pitch up to five innings. Other roster changes include the optioning of Lazaro Estrada and Davis Schneider to Buffalo, while Rudy Martin Jr. and catcher Willie MacIver were also reassigned.
