Keaton Peters of Penn State Men's Hockey Out for Season Due to Knee Injury
Keaton Peters, a junior forward for the Penn State men's hockey team, will be sidelined for the rest of the 2026-27 season due to a torn ACL, torn MCL, and lateral meniscus injuries. This announcement was made by Peters on his Instagram account.
The injury occurred just two games into his return after he missed the entire 2025-26 season due to a previous knee injury that required surgery. Peters was playing as the fourth-line center during the season opener against UConn when he suffered a knee-on-knee collision.
Penn State head coach Guy Gadowsky expressed disappointment over Peters' injury, highlighting the hard work he put into his recovery. Peters had been expected to contribute significantly to the team, especially after the loss of several key players in the offseason. He previously played in 35 games during his freshman year, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists.
