Keely Hodgkinson Advances to 800m Final Amid Rival's Fall

Keely Hodgkinson has successfully advanced to the final of the women's 800m at the European Championships, occurring shortly after her competitor Audrey Werro experienced a significant fall during the semi-finals.

Werro, who had previously recorded the fastest time in 43 years earlier this season, led the first semi-final until she fell on the final bend. Despite finishing last and appearing in pain, she was able to secure her place in the final after an appeal confirmed that she had been impeded by another runner.

In the second semi-final, Hodgkinson finished first with a time of 1:57.38, maintaining her lead throughout the race. She expressed concern for Werro after hearing the crowd's reaction to the fall and hopes for a competitive final featuring both athletes, along with Jemma Reekie, who also advanced.
