Keely Hodgkinson Withdraws from Zurich Diamond League

Keely Hodgkinson has announced her withdrawal from the women's 800 metres event at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich, scheduled for Thursday. The Olympic champion cited that her body is not prepared for competition following the recent European Championships.

Hodgkinson was expected to compete against Audrey Werro, who recently defeated her for gold at the European Championships. Despite her eagerness to race, she decided to prioritize her recovery, expressing disappointment at missing the event but looking forward to future competitions.

The Zurich meet will also feature notable athletes such as world 400m hurdles champion Femke Bol, who is competing in the 800m this season, and Hodgkinson's training partner Georgia Hunter-Bell, who secured gold at the Commonwealth Games. Additionally, world 800m champion Lilian Odira has withdrawn due to health issues.
