Keenan Allen Arrested on Drunken Driving Charges in Indianapolis
Keenan Allen, a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, was arrested early Sunday morning on charges related to drunken driving. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that Allen was taken into custody around 1 am ET after officers observed signs of intoxication while approaching his vehicle, which was parked in a no-parking zone.
Allen was held for over 12 hours before being released around 3:30 pm. He faces two misdemeanor charges, including operating a vehicle while intoxicated and endangering a person, with a court appearance scheduled for September 16. This incident could impact his recent signing with the Colts, as he joined the team earlier this month and participated in a preseason game against the Detroit Lions.
The Colts have acknowledged the situation and are in the process of gathering more information. They did not provide further comments at this time. The team is set to begin the regular season at home against the Baltimore Ravens on September 13, and it is uncertain if Allen will be available for that match.
