Keenan Allen Charged with Misdemeanor Offenses Following OWI Arrest

Keenan Allen, a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, has been formally charged with two misdemeanor offenses stemming from his arrest for alleged drunk driving last month.

On August 30, Allen was arrested by Indianapolis police after being found parked in a no-parking zone, where officers noted signs of intoxication. His blood-alcohol level was recorded at 0.224, leading to a Class A misdemeanor charge, while the operating while intoxicated (OWI) charge is classified as a Class C misdemeanor.

Allen, who signed a one-year contract with the Colts on August 18, had six receptions for 32 yards in the team's recent season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. He ranks 13th in NFL history with 1,061 career receptions and has accumulated 12,083 receiving yards and 70 touchdown catches. Following the resolution of his criminal case, he may face a suspension from the league, with the next court date set for October 26.
