Keenan Allen Signs One-Year Deal with Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen to a one-year contract valued at up to $8.32 million, as reported on Monday.
At 34 years old, Allen has had a successful 13-year career, primarily with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he made six Pro Bowls. Last season, he recorded 81 receptions for 777 yards and four touchdowns. His career totals include 1,055 catches for 12,051 yards and 70 touchdowns.
This agreement brings Allen together with Colts head coach Shane Steichen, who was previously the offensive coordinator during Allen's early years with the Chargers. The Colts are currently in need of wide receiver depth, as their top option Alec Pierce is recovering from ankle surgery, and Michael Pittman Jr. was traded earlier this off-season. Quarterback Daniel Jones is expected to start in the Colts' season opener against the Ravens on September 13, following a season-ending injury.
