Keidean Coleman Joins Essendon After Leaving Brisbane
Keidean Coleman has made the decision to leave Brisbane and join Essendon, motivated by the club's family-oriented pitch and its strong Indigenous heritage.
As one of the last signings during the 2026 AFL trade period, Coleman was traded along with Pick 25 in exchange for Picks 21 and 27. He expressed enthusiasm for the new coaching staff, particularly Mark McVeigh, who made him feel welcomed and valued his family.
After facing challenges with injuries in recent seasons, Coleman began considering a fresh start around Round 15 of the previous season. His move to Essendon allows him to follow in the footsteps of notable Indigenous players and participate in significant matches like Dreamtime at the G and Anzac Day.
