Keira Bevan to Start as Fly-Half for Wales Against South Africa
Keira Bevan has been selected to play as fly-half for Wales in their WXV opener against South Africa, taking place in Cardiff on Friday. This marks a shift from her usual scrum-half position, where she has made 83 appearances for the national team.
The 29-year-old has been training at fly-half during the pre-season and will team up with Seren Lockwood. Lleucu George, the regular fly-half, is on the bench, while Kayleigh Powell is unavailable due to a hamstring injury.
Head coach Sean Lynn has included three uncapped players in the matchday squad, with Amy Williams set to play on the wing. Co-captains Alex Callender and Kate Williams return to the lineup after injuries, and the team features a reshuffled back line, including Lisa Neumann at full-back.
