
Kevin Walters to Join St Helens as Head Coach After World Cup
Kevin Walters, the current head coach of the Australian rugby league team, is set to join St Helens as their head coach starting next season. He will continue with the Kangaroos through the Rugby League World Cup in October and November before beginning his three-year contract with St Helens in 2027.
Walters, who has previously coached the Catalans Dragons and the Brisbane Broncos, expressed his honor in leading a club with a rich history. He noted the toughness and skill of English players during his previous experiences and looks forward to contributing to the winning culture at St Helens.
St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus highlighted Walters' extensive experience and commitment to the club. Meanwhile, Eamon O'Carroll will serve as the interim head coach until the end of the current season, following the departure of Paul Rowley after less than a year in charge. St Helens is currently facing challenges in the league, sitting seventh with three games left to secure a playoff spot.
