Key Heats to Watch at the Upcoming Fiji Pro
The Fiji Pro is set to take place at Cloudbreak starting August 25, marking the return of the Championship Tour to this iconic location for the first time since 2017. Many surfers will be competing at Cloudbreak for the first time, as Fiji was absent from the tour from 2018 to 2023.
Among the notable heats, Griffin Colapinto will face Rio Waida in a rematch from the Fiji Pro final two years ago, where Colapinto emerged victorious. Erin Brooks, fresh off a win at Teahupo’o, will compete against Bella Kenworthy, who has yet to surf at Cloudbreak. Gabriel Medina, a two-time event winner, will take on Joel Vaughan, who is also new to this venue. Additionally, Leo Fioravanti will compete against the winner of a heat between Eli Hanneman and Teo Degei, as he seeks to regain his position in the rankings.
With the forecast indicating some swell, the event promises to showcase the skills of top tube riders, making it a highly anticipated competition for surfing fans.
