Khamzat Chimaev Excludes Borralho and Du Plessis from Next UFC Fight
Khamzat Chimaev has updated his list of potential opponents after learning that two middleweight fighters, Caio Borralho and Dricus Du Plessis, are currently sidelined with injuries. The UFC informed Chimaev of their unavailability, which affects his plans for a fight.
Previously, Borralho had accepted a challenge from Chimaev for a match in November at Madison Square Garden. With Nassourdine Imavov set to face Sean Strickland for the middleweight title, Chimaev expressed his readiness to step in if that fight does not occur.
Chimaev, who lost the middleweight title to Strickland in May, remains focused on competing in the 185-pound division despite suggestions from UFC CEO Dana White about a potential move up in weight. He recently participated in a regional event in Moscow, discussing his desire to return to the Octagon soon, although no official fight has been scheduled yet.
