Khamzat Chimaev Faces Setbacks in UFC Return Plans
Khamzat Chimaev's anticipated return to the UFC Octagon may be delayed as he learns that all four of his recent call-outs are not possible. The former middleweight champion has been eager to fight again since his loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 328 in May.
Chimaev's hopes for an immediate rematch or a fight with Nassourdine Imavov have been dashed, as Imavov is expected to challenge Strickland next. Additionally, the UFC has informed Chimaev that Caio Borralho and Dricus du Plessis are currently injured, further limiting his options.
Despite concerns regarding his weight management for the middleweight division, Chimaev remains focused on a potential rematch with Strickland. He has also confirmed his participation in an upcoming wrestling match against Gilbert Burns at RAF 13 in Miami on September 18, following his recent victories in the Real American Freestyle events.
