Khamzat Chimaev Snubbed by UFC as Nassourdine Imavov Gets Title Shot

Khamzat Chimaev has been overlooked by the UFC for a title rematch despite his ongoing efforts. Following a significant loss to Sean Strickland in May, where a severe weight cut was reported, Chimaev had hoped for an immediate chance to reclaim his title.

Recently, Chimaev revealed that the UFC has chosen Nassourdine Imavov to face Strickland instead of him. He expressed his disappointment, stating that he did not want to wait for Strickland's return and had requested to fight in Abu Dhabi. Chimaev indicated that he was ready to compete and earn back his title as soon as possible.

Chimaev is aiming for a fight at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, which has already confirmed ten matchups. However, it remains uncertain if the UFC will accommodate his request for a quick return to the octagon.
