Khamzat Chimaev Urges Dana White for a Fight Soon
Khamzat Chimaev has publicly communicated his eagerness to fight soon, addressing Dana White directly.
Chimaev has only fought twice in the past 22 months, a situation that contrasts with his reputation as an aggressive fighter. He won the UFC middleweight title in August 2025 but lost it in May 2026 to Sean Strickland. After that defeat, he expressed interest in moving up to light heavyweight but later decided to focus on regaining his middleweight title.
Currently, Chimaev is in a waiting period as Strickland is recovering from a shoulder injury and is not expected to return until the end of the year. White acknowledged he had not seen Chimaev's message but mentioned that discussions about fights are ongoing. Chimaev's next appearance could potentially be at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, where the card features a title defense by Alexander Volkanovski.
