Khare's Steady Performance Keeps Chhattisgarh Close to Andhra
Amandeep Khare's solid performance on the second day of the Ranji Trophy match against Andhra has brought Chhattisgarh within striking distance of a first-innings lead. Khare scored an unbeaten 74, guiding his team to a total of 216 for eight, just 15 runs shy of Andhra's first-innings score.
Khare's innings was marked by patience as he faced a disciplined bowling attack, particularly from T. Vijay, who took three wickets for 73 runs. Chhattisgarh's batters focused on building partnerships, with Khare contributing to stands of 32 runs with Anuj Tiwary and 56 runs with Ajay Mandal, who also adopted a cautious approach.
As the day progressed, the weather worsened with the approach of Cyclone Arnab, leading to windy conditions. Despite the challenges, Khare maintained his composure, resisting the urge to play aggressively. The day's play concluded with Chhattisgarh still trailing and only two wickets remaining.
